Good afternoon #SDF and the wider #fediverse! Last night I tried #Riot.im for #ios(Using the #Matrix protocol) and I found that there's lots of tech chatrooms. I checked out the #OpenBSD chat and they seem to be pretty knowledgeable about it. The fact that there's an IRC bridge is also cool. Might try Weechat and it and see how well it works.

Good afternoon #SDF and the wider #fediverse! So yeah, email troubles since I would have to delete my email address(and make a new one in it's place) and I just can't do that yet. So I joined Protonmail after hearing about it on here and stuff. Rather impressive, I must say. As far as switching to it as my main email, still can't do such a thing just yet.

Good afternoon #SDF and the wider #fediverse! Today I played some #dnd and it was great! We killed some bandits with #ultraviolence and found out that a port town apparently has a monster that's causing problems for them! So yeah, the usual suspects were there and we had a good time!

Good afternoon #SDF and the wider #fediverse! I just took a #nap cuz yeah, it's Saturday. Looking forward to #dnd tomorrow, but today I'm gonna work on my shell script. Of course, the advantage now is that I no longer have to ssh to my raspberry pi to develop the script! So glad to finally be able to develop in an environment that makes it easy.

Good afternoon #SDF and the wider and wandering #fediverse ! So I installed #TrueOS on this machine. This machine is somewhat old, and has an integrated GPU, so the graphics for the #Lumina desktop suck, so I right away installed #KDE (For now, I also like minimal environments, but I wanted something comparable) and so far, so good. Still getting around a few things, and I feel like the Lumina desktop is in a quasi-beta state at the moment, but other than that, it works perfect!

Also, what do you think of other processor architectures such as #ARM, #Alpha, #PowerPC and the like?

Do you think ARM has a chance to gain a foothold in the traditionally #x86 marketplace?

On another note, what do you think of the #Intel #NUCs?

Today I woke up to the sound of #rain, and it looks like it's gonna be cloudy and rainy all day.. so I'm gonna be feeling sleepy most of it, haha.

Fortunately I just had my #coffee. Before I get to the #tech stuff like I usually do, what's everyone's favorite sort of coffee flavor, brand, how do you make it etc? And if you don't like coffee, do you like #tea?

Today I wanted, just for fun, to get everyone's opinions on non-Unix systems(Except Windows, everyone already talks about their Windows opinions), like #FreeDOS , #RISCOS , #HAIKU and the like.

Do you use them seriously or are they mostly just toy OSes to you?

Advocating for a better future is always good, but to create one, that's always much harder.

I think my first step in this was becoming an ARPA member of SDF. That's why I also want to get a #hamradio license, to help out in emergencies, connect with community and so forth.

I remember seeing a presentation a while ago, the speaker had an idea to get the internet to those in #Cuba . I'll talk more about that in the next post.
