@storm ouch, that last one... I'm thinking about setting up another instance on my own hardware. If I do that, I'll probably get a group of family or friends all set up together. Might help to pull the exclusivity angle as well.

I've considered it but this is kind of backpedaling. He's running #xubuntu right now so not much would change. I'm also not sure his graphics card would work in !trisquel. I intend to update his machine this week. It might be worth the detour to see.

Other than WoW and whatever proprietary blobs needed for hardware, he's using completely libre software anyway.
