@sergiodj: I'm concerned that the ecosystem will be full of non-free software, just like the Firefox extension repos.
-
@xrevan86: "My diet is vegetarian, except for chicken and beef."
-
@sergiodj: Interesting. I'm still unsure of Firefox OS, but I share all those Android criticisms. I'm at least open to Firefox OS now.
-
I spent much of my career learning proprietary software, only to have that company go from market leader…
-
@windigo yeah, not annoying as an incremental step, but annoying as expression of complacency, or worse, of moving away from GNU/Linux
-
Pet Peeve: "All the software I use is free, except the OS." Like saying "I have full civil liberties, just not from the federal government."
-
So good. An argument that the best way to Freedom on Mobile Computers is: Firefox OS, Custom Hardware, Network Services http://ur1.ca/jkfph

I'm still hesitant to move home directory contents to #ownCloud though... something just doesn't sit right about that being web accessible.
-
I'm moving my #SOGo calendar/contacts to #ownCloud. #SOGo served me well, but it's too unfamiiar to manage, esp. when I screw something up!
-
@bobjonkman it's a spectrum with proprietary relicensing, e.g. ownCloud CE is very useful as FLOSS, SugarCRM CE seems increasingly crippled
-
@bobjonkman "open core" doesn't have a precise definition, but evilness/usefulness varies widely with proprietary relicensing.
