    Important #indieweb lesson in #modular website setup this morning:

    Keep your DNS provider separate from your CDN separate from your webhost, so you can swap out any one of them as necessary, whether for economic or as it were today, reliability reasons. And make sure those services themselves don’t depend on each other.

    Here's the thing: if you fear #Tor so much that you want to block access from it, put up a message to its visitors stating that. Don't instead feign an error message or pretend that something with the connection went wrong, which can confuse the user into thinking your site is down ("Unable to connect", "The connection has timed out").

    I'm tired of receiving "errors" like these lately only to use a webproxy like Anonymouse.org to quickly unmask the intention of the admin. I mean, what good does lying do in this case? Just fucking say it. Even a shitty #Cloudflare captcha is better than a misleading error message.

    @mikegerwitz Yeah I've just stopped visiting sites that use MITM as a service. Especially interesting example was https://kryptera.se/ which is a site that I presume is devoted to security and privacy that gives all their traffic to #CloudFlare.

    @uddaboktips  Fast hur menar de att de skulle DDoSas när de använder den (utländska, Tor-fientliga, väldigt osvenska) MITM-tjänsten #CloudFlare? Hela syftet med den är ju rate limiting och att helt slippa så krävande attacker (eftersom CF cachar + hanterar allt).

    @modemjunkie Great! Also, getting rid of #CloudFlare gets rid of Google's #ReCaptcha use (which is a win in its own) ;)
    (but loses because #LetsEncrypt uses Google for both the application form and their #SafeBrowsing API on every single further domain validation...)

    To make MITM impossible? First off, you could stop using #CloudFlare since I have to enter a #captcha every time I visit sites using their MITM-attack-as-a-service (browsing through #Tor). :D
