@HerraBRE !GNUsocial calls it "mute" for the per-profile blocking, which makes the muted profile disappear from your feeds (while logged in of course). Or at least should, I think it's still buggy because it's not been such a big problem for me at least thanks to active moderators.
Then we have "silence" which is a moderator-level ban from the site in general. New posts are not received.

@crecca Blocked users can still subscribe to you, read your posts etc. If they can't, you've broken the laws of physics and should get the Schrödinger prize of Federated/Unfederated boxcats.
But maybe you mean that they, only on the same instance as you, can't list your profile in their "subscriptions" list.
-
@crecca Yes they can. Subscriptions are on a per-instance basis. So if two people from one !OStatus instance subscribe to you, and you block one of them, that instance will still receive the updates and thus the one you blocked will still get the same info as the one you haven't blocked.
+ you can always follow #Atom feeds from a feedreader.

@capngloval The best thing about it is that at the celebration party, you can both have the whole cake and eat it at the same time.

@crecca As a matter of fact, Atom feeds are by definition part of the !OStatus protocol suite.
