I definitely will have to think out security a little better. Right now it's just NAT from an open network but I intend to build a DMZ for this setup in the near future.

I really missed it... I haven't self hosted since my ISP blocked ports 80 and 25 about a decade ago. A VPS just isn't the same.

@kzimmermann they do it so you pay more money for business services. They state that it's to protect you from viruses though. You can use alternate ports for some things but that's not optimal.
