     @suborbitalpigeon @laurelrusswurm what surprised me is that the UK election turnout in 2010 was much higher than the Scottish one in 2011.

     @mcnalu BC had unprecedented electoral turnout for 1st referendum but citizens realized the game was rigged& many stayed home for the 2nd

     @mcnalu When there’s something extra like a high profile referendum, voter turnout increases because there’s more press, more excitement.

     @mcnalu We had people not in the contested district (and not knowing it) wanting to vote in a hotly contested by-election a while back.
