@lnxwalt it comes with 1.8.7 which is fine. I just couldn't get rails to build. And there is no 'gem remove' command. -

@jk I already have xcode which is necessary. The complete lack of a package management system I'm OSX is a nightmare. -

I used this thing called "Homebrew" which downloads and installs packages. I don't know where it gets the packages. -

Macs are fine as long as someone else buys and maintains them for you. lnxwalt repeated this. -
