     @laurelrusswurm it's also our parliamentary system -- there's no balance of power with an appointed senate and ceremonial head of state

     @balleyne I wouldn’t mind an appointed senate if it was appointed some other way (ie not by the sitting government)

     @balleyne I wouldn’t mind the ceremonial head of state so much if it was limited to ceremony
