I've realized something. It's hard to make something like #SDF or #tildetown and attract people. People still want ease of use, despite the fact that their privacy, liberty and so on is endangered when they use sites like #Birdsite and #Facebook. I suppose only a simple web interface is the real option for most of these cases, because otherwise 90% of people will scoff at it. We need something like the #freedombox . but "automatic" and instantly deployable to achieve true success I feel.
