@bob Apparently the WT1520F is Ralink which is generally easier to work with than Mediatek. Ralink doesn't have much of a reputation for quality hardware though afaik, so no idea how it'd work in a noisy mesh environment.

MR-3020 v3 uses MT7628NN (Mediatek) instead of the Atheros SOC in v1.x
This totally sucks. Better use the WR703N instead...

Fortunately the TL-WR902AC work great with #OpenWrt snapshot! But they're still something like 50 EUR a piece.

@bob wr703n are neat-o but only have one antenna. I've been looking for cheap !fs compatible hardware with two wireless interfaces. Not much luck so far (but I'm guessing there's some repeater out there that fits the bill)
-
@bob El-cheapo method of giving a wr703n a second antenna is of course just to use a USB wifi dongle. They're pretty small nowadays .)
-
@bob Yeah I've found some even cheaper too, some very handy with built-in 240V connectors even. But they're generally some weird, unknown brand and uncertain chipset. The WR703N really has had a long life and I bet it'll be around for some time longer too. I prefer that to el cheapo no sustaino.
