@simsa0 I've never had a problem with that (except some USB stick with # which just needs to install exfat-utils or somesuch). The only issue regarding dual-booting is that _Windows_ can't read _GNU/Linux_ partitions by default, but that's just good since it means more time spent in GNU/Linux in the end.

I don't know which distribution you've got experience with but it sure does sound like it would suck for beginners. But trust me, I know what I'm doing as I've migrated quite a few people the last couple of years.
