Lots of folks seem to do this and I want this recorded somewhere so I can save it later, so here's what I'd like to work on in 2016 (in no particular order):
pay closer attention to my son. stop and actually listen to him, no matter how trivial it may seem to me. don't cut him off when he speaks. he may only be five but he deserves the same level of attention and respect as anyone else.
continue reducing the amount of animal products that i consume, both as food and utility.
continue finding sustainable exercise options that can be done without a dedicated time slot (such as walking, hiking, and yoga).
be still once in a while. just be quiet and think.
continue to remove nonfree software from my computing devices.
take my wife and son on a road trip of some sort.
spend less money. not just to save money but to avoid interaciton with capitalism where i can. consume less, do more for myself.
continue to focus on self reliance. teach my son the things i learn and involve him in my learning.
support my wife's art. set her up for success in following her dreams.
continue examining my faith, whatever that may be. continue expanding my understanding of philosophy and theology.
continue learning about history and alternative forms of (non)government. test these ideas, adapt and grow as i learn.
spend even more time outdoors.
continue to evolve my craft. learn more about guile and functional languages. build things that interest me once in a while. apply those skills to help others.
strike a balance between work and life. work is my opiate and my demon. learn when it's ok to walk away.
prepare for the things i can control, avoid worry about the things i cannot.
